3Q Records would like to introduce an upcoming vocalist, Jay-D who has released his new single. Jay began his musical journey in Chandigarh during his early teens, learning from his Ustaadji “Ramandeep Kalsi”. Jay entered local competitions at schools and colleges to try showcase his talent to the world. This gave him the opportunity to receive further guidance from artists within the industry such as Harjit Harman, Tanya Gill, Jeet Jagjit and Sonu Virk.
He then began to work on his album “Teri Akh” which was released in 2003 alongside Davy Singh (Music Producer). The album was successful in Panjab, India which lead to more performances at shows and Melas. In 2008 Jay decided to move to the London to continue his studies and he was then introduced to DJ’s & Producers Ambi & Dilly. They offered Jay an opportunity to join their Roadshow, allowing him to perform and build relationships with artists within the industry.
Jay-D was then introduced to music producer K-Singh by “Bhinder Khanpuri” who had written the perfect project for both artists titled “Chak Chak Ke”.
“Chak Chak Ke” is a Desi style Bhangra single. During the making of the track Jay-D went into the studio with one thing in mind and that was to make the world dance to an upbeat track. The video was shot in both India & UK to make sure it does justice to the lyrics in the song. The solid beats provided by K-Singh complimented Jay’s vocals perfectly and they now have a powerful project to share with the industry.
K-Singh having being brought up in a musical family, always had a very strong passion for music. At the age of three, he began to learn tabla from some of the most renowned tabla players in the UK. Following this, he picked up the art of playing dhol and dholki very quickly.
Gradually his interest in other instruments also grew, such as the harmonium, keyboard and piano, and in a very short space of time, he became a natural at playing instruments he had never learnt before. K-Singh has produced music for H-Dhami, Nirmal Sidhu, Saini Surinder, Jaswinder Daghamia, Nesdi Jones and Nav Sidhu just to name a few. He also enjoys developing and working with new artists, so collaborating with Jay-D was the perfect opportunity to do so.
Jay-D’s debut single “Chak Chak Ke” featuring K-Singh is out now!
